It sounds like it could be a relatively simple two-step process - extract the m2t file and then do the pulldown. If that's the case then good - I finally pulled the trigger on an HV30 from Newegg.

I like the non-fluid motion in 24p. Dunno why - personal taste I suppose. 24p does have some technical advantage over 30p/60i - it's smaller to work with both on the time line and in terms of file size. But as you point out, some flavors of 24p can be a little hard to get going - which is why I'm asking about it before I take the plunge.
