    Many thanks. I'll try the video test (I'm assuming you mean watch it on my laptop). I am mainly wondering, though, how it will look on TV, as that's where it will end up being viewed.&nbsp; I suppose the way I am thinking is that for an hour and a half film, rendered down to DVD, the compression process will lose enough quality for the difference ...

    I've got a Canon HG20 which allows me to upload footage, originally shot in both 24 mbps and 17 mbps, at 1080i or 567i. I'm going to start a project which is will be outputted for standard, non-HD DVD. Will there be any difference in the final quality if I upload it in 567i as opposed to the bigger 1080i. My laptop is duel core, and can cope ...

    I'm trying at the minute, and find S12 somewhat frustrating, as it won;t see the camera's HDD, and when the files are imported, using the canon software (which is poor), I can;t batch import it. I have like 6 hours of footage that I need to import, and file by file is a long, long job. The camera itself doesn't show up at all in the capture tab, ...
