From Pinnacle Studio 23 User Guide:
''Using Smart Proxy for a faster, smoother editing experience
The main purpose of Smart Proxy is to provide a more fluid editing and previewing
experience when working with large, high resolution video files.
Smart Proxy creates lower resolution working copies of larger source files. These smaller
files are ...

I can't find proxy edit in Pinn Studio 23 Ultimate.
Does not appear in timeline settings controls.
Manual doesn't help.
I want to edit 4K by proxy.
Thanks,

Recently upgraded from 17 to 23.
I would like to retain my Media, Projects and Ccollections from Pinn 17, where they appear under the left-side ''Navigation'' pane.
This must be a common question. If there's a thread on the topic please let me know.
Thanks,

Exactly.
Treesize is great. It showed my 760-gig hard drive to be about 300 gigs of video.
I therefore moved the entire video collection to an external hard drive, and now Pinnacle Export shows ''60 per cent full.''
Treesize also shows the status of my four, yes four, external hard drives. Each of them contains ...

Original poster:
Same issue. I upgraded to a Sony NX80, a 4K camera.
Studio 17 can't handle editing 4K, at least on my typical Windows 10/off the shelf computer.
So I shoot in 1080p at the moment.
Why 4K capability? Since we hope to have these cameras 10 years or more, it may stave off the next upgrade. And computers ...

Just got this camera. Fails to show up on the import screen.
It's a 4K camera but I am currently set to 1080p.
Curious if any others are dealing with this new-model camera issue.
