Hi Klausdt.  What operating system are you using?  I'm using Vista 64 and that may be the issue.  Or its a compatibitlity problem with my new Dell 435T which many other users are experiencing problems.

Thanks a bunch Oliver!  It worked on my Dell 435T as well.  No more BSOD.  Now I just need to see if it will capture HD video from my Sony HC9. It wouldn't before now I'm going to try! Wahoo!!!! (almost....hehe)

What is the am capture tool?  I did use Studio 12 to try and capture but it doesn't like the HD mini dv through firewire.  Std definition works though but defeats the purpose of owning a blu ray player and HD camcorder.

Has anyone else tried reloading Vista 64?  It would be interesting to see if this was the problem.  MARC P:  Did QA load their own Vista 64 or did it come pre-loaded from Dell like it would have been for all the users here that are having problems with BSOD?  Any word from your QA dept yet?

I've now sent a copy of my data from msconfig32 to the avid support person.  Has anyone been successful capture high def content from their mini dv camera from either Sony or Canon?  Is this really a problem with the Dell 435T machines or something else?

I'm having the exact same problem with my Sony HC9.  Another using is experiencing the same with his Canon.  It seems there is an issue with capture HDV using firewire and Studio 12.  I'm using a Dell 435T running Vista 64.
