I have disabled the DVD burner to no avail. Mine has the TSST corp DVD+-RW TS-H635F Will check into disconnecting it, have already changed to a different drive letter to see if it altered anything which it didn't. Still leaning towards switching away from the Home version since no one has chimed in with problems on that OS iirc.

Bios on mobo is already at A09, current download from Dell is A07 (as of 2 weeks ago). Chipset up to date. Is it only Vista Home Premium that has a problem? Is there a 435 Dell with a different OS that actually works? Thanks for the info Daninvan and kak58.
