• Re: Looking to buy HD camera

I output in avi full screen DV because that seems to be the highest quality available in the ''make movie'' menu. I understand that if I were burning a DVD I could do HD but how can I produce a file in a better quality than avi full screen? Pardon my naivete but I am somewhat new at this. Most of the stuff I make is for youtube and other kinds of ...

  • Re: Looking to buy HD camera

I shot a few minutes with the new camera and they seemed to work okay in editing but I didn't do anything fancy with them. Made movie as an avi which seemed to maintain the quality so far so good. How do you convert the AVCHD to mpeg2? And are those files easier to edit? and do you output to avi with them...if so do they keep the ...

Thanks for the reply, Barye. I ended up getting a VIXIA HFM50 and it does create AVCHD files that are compatible with my Pinnacle 14 Ultimate. CJ

Two questions... 1) Currently have Pinnacle 14 Ultimate Collection...what HD files does it support so I know what the camera will need to shoot in so I can edit the files? 2) Any suggestions of Canon cameras that would work well with ...

  • Pinnacle 14 can't read a .mov file

I have windows 7 and an HD mov file opens up and plays fine on that. But when I try to use it in my Pinnacle 14 (ultimate collection) it says that ''some'' mov files will not work. How can I get this to work as I really need to finish a project. Very frustrating. I bought 14 because it supposedly worked with HD files. Thanks for any help or ...

  • real show HD .mov file

I have Studio 14 and it will not open this file and let me edit it. I thought Studio 14 could handle HD...why won't this file open so I can put it on the timeline. I've also had problems in the mpast opening .mov files. Called Pinnacle help and they sent me some ''keys'' but still didn't work. Any advice would be appreicated. Thanks, CJ

  • Re: Film Look

Thanks for the response R_Vera. I want to give video a look closer to film. Not antique or old film, but a film like appearance (or as close to it as can be had). I have Magic Bullet but it has so many different settings and FX in the film look section I am asking if anyone knows which one comes the closest to film. CJ
