The way I understand it is that he didn't ''leave'' but rather Avid cut him loose. I don't think he did anything wrong. It's just Avid trying to save some money. The question is what/who else is Avid going to cut?

Your average avchd cam is a consumer level cam with consumer level lenses. (Of course there is the panasonic but then when did panasonic ever compare to sony). I wonder, how many avchd cams do you think you can buy for the price of just the lens on the 900? You're WAY OFF the mark with your comparisons   A lot of people get over hyped ...

Smetvid:HDCAM also uses 1440x1080 and video from the Sony F900 at 1440x1080 will blow away any AVCHD camera at 1920x1080 in terms of raw detail. If you're going to make a comparison, then at least make it a reasonable one. In your example you may as well be comparing Ulead Video Studio to FCP
