• Re: studio 12.1 rendering problem

Thanks JJN. Yes I did try what you suggested but it didn't resolve the issue. Today I thought I would just re-install the back up folder that I had saved to a WD external drive. Lo and behold it worked!!! Thank the Lord for the WD drive. It has saved me hours of having to re-do that project. It is now happily ...

  • studio 12.1 rendering problem

Still using 12.1 and it is still perfectly adequate for the editing I do Haven't done much until just recently. Converting some old 8mm movies for a friend. Capture and editing went fine. Today I tried to make a dvd. For some reason it seems to indicate in very small text that something is wrong with a render file and ...

  • Re: blueray disc playback

No, no software, cables, screws etc. Oem Sony Optiarc from Newegg. Playback is not a big issue I can take a finished disc and make sure it plays o-k on my regular BR player. It would just be handy to have such convenient playback on the computer. Burnt a couple of discs with Pinnacle now and both worked fine. Thanks for ...

  • blueray disc playback

Just installed a Blu ray drive on my computer. Presently rendering one of my movies to Blue ray, all seems o-k so far. Is anyone aware of any player software. (preferably free :-) ) that will allow BR disc playback in Win 7. Tried win media center and VLC but they would not recognize a commercially produced blue ...

  • Re: AVCHD nightmare

How the card is formatted may be the issue. My Vizio tv will only read cards formatted as FAT32, rather than NTFS, which I would rather use. So I save to a regular DVD as an avchd file and play on the Blue ray player. Works fine as long as you don't need more than half an hour of playing time.

  • Re: 8mm movies to Hd or SD?

Thanks, Steve. That pretty well confirms what I thought. There would have to be a pretty big improvement in quality to make all that work worthwhile.

  • 8mm movies to Hd or SD?

A few years ago I copied all my old 8mm movies to DVD using an old Sony Hi 8 handy cam. The results were not bad just recording the image from the screen. I subsequently edited them, added background music and commentary. I was wondering the other day if it would be worth re-doing the project in HD from my Canon Vixia ...

  • Re: CPU & RAM Usage

Did anybody ever try the Atari ST. I started with a 520 and eventually moved on to a mega STe. 4meg of ram and a 100mb HD. Based on a 68000 chip a great machine for it's day. I suspect Atari never overcame their video game image and faded into oblivion. The question usually asked was, ''is it IBM compatible'' ...

  • Re: Blu-Ray Player

We all seem to be on the same page here, which is nice. I really like the idea of two versions of a movie. A longer one for immediate family and a short version for general consumption. Hadn't thought of that but I will in future. Hadn't realized BR media had come down to such a low price. Maybe a BR burner is in my future ...
