Unfortunately this workaround didn't work for my setup. Wish I knew where the problem lies; camera, firewire driver, OS, Studio 12...but alas, I'll never know as will have to find another machine to use for import.

Bob, the problem you reference is very similar to mine (see thread on canon HV20), although i'm using Windows 7 64bit. I successfully captured once, popped in the next tape and it would no longer work. Put the old tape back in that was successful and it too would no longer work. Nothing I have tried since that time - and I've ...

Thank you for the reply Marc. With the camera connected I uninstalled the AV/C driver, then uninstalled the firewire driver. Same problem. I also read on another post that someone was having a similar problem and fixed it by disabling onboard Realtek sound. That didn't work either. I also tried AM Capture and got an ...

I tried the original tape I was successful with and it didn't work a 2nd time. I did not make any changes to my computer betwen captures - only a few minutes ...

I was making a very simple slide show with a couple of Youtube videos included. 30 minutes long. Technically not very complex compared to what I've done in the past. I was unable to render the project, always ...

Good to hear you had success Holsie. By chance, do you know the maker of the chipset on your firewire card? Also, in Device Manager, what does it say for your driver? Is it OHCI, TI OHCI or AGERE OHCI? I'm thinking the chipset may be part of the puzzle.

I am running win 7 and can't get it to work. Someone made a comment that it didn't work under Vista either so just trying to verify. Anyone have experience with this?
