I tried playing a a dual layer disc last night and forwarding all the way through. I used Saving Private Ryan, Widescreen version DTS. It was fine. So my writer seems to be able to read dual layer but not write to.
Tried deleting the filters too. No luck... Not sure where to go from here...more reading I ...
