I used Studio on a Surface many years ago an it worked well, but both Studio and Surfaces have move forward a lot since then. I guess it depends what sort of footage you are editing.

Once the author tab is enabled, you will find Export to Disc available in the export dialogue. so you should be able to export a timeline without adding any menus.
