You are going to need to prove that auto tone is so different to tone that it makes things worse, not better. I did a comparison using the same clip in 21 and 26 and the result looked the same to me.

Err... hasn't it just been renamed Auto Tone from Auto?
Clicking on Auto Tone disables the Exposure>White parameters in PS26, as does clicking on Auto in PS21, so it looks like it's having the same effect.
I can see that in 26 by opening a clip in the Corrections editor from the
Library and in the Edior under. Editor/Colour/Basic and ...

Good point. But they might still have been transitioning between formats at that point, which might explain the lack of Control Panel options. Of course, it could just be a mistake..... ;-)

Perhaps it's got something to do with the original PO file format being mpeg-2, although the file type was renamed EVMS in PS17. That still isn't completly royalty free. In the release of 26, it had been changed to Prores, which is now open source.
Steve - can you look at your PO files and report what the file suffix is?

Tony - Steve is using the trial, which is build 87. So I'm guessing it's not up to date.

I think this may vary depending on the type of mic. I see a delay in PS26 of about a second using the mic on my webcam.

I think an issue here might well be the frame rate. I seem to recall that 60P was/is not part of the official Blu ray standard. Some players have the firmware to play it back, others may be able to do so with firmware update, and others may not play it at ...

There is also a reset function in the Control Panel. You might want to try that first.
