I'm having the same problem but my TV only has one set of  AV  inputs well i think thats what its called but theres only yellow and white so i added the splitters and connected to the TV and the PS2 and i get the darker screen and i also get a horrible feed when i record (btw idk what pinnacle software to use to record and not just ...
