• Re: Any way to import X264 encoded AVI's?

Jjn, VirtualDubMod works well for ''importing'' MPEG2 video, but I need a way to ''export'' video from VirtualDub so I can use the filtered video in Studio 12. I tried a codec called YMPEG with VirtualDub, but so far I haven't been able to get it to work with my HD source material. I have been outputing Divx from VirtualDub, as I can import ...

  • Any way to import X264 encoded AVI's?

I use a variety of video tools to process my videos, most often ''Pinnacle Studio 12'' and ''Virtualdub''. I'm trying to find an intermediate codec I can use to transfer video between Studio 12 and VirtualDub. In the past, I have loaded the raw MTS files from my camcorder into Studio 12, made some rough cuts, and saved the movie out ...

  • Re: Betreft: Anyone use Deshaker 2.2 with Studio 12 using vdub2rtfx V7?

Hmm.. I'll give 2.0 a try, but I think that was before the multi-processor version, which could make an already slow process extremely long... :) Anthony

  • Anyone use Deshaker 2.2 with Studio 12 using vdub2rtfx V7?

The first step I always take in postprocessing is to stabilize shaky video using Deshaker 2.2 with VirtualDub. I currently load my original AVCHD clips into Studio 12, save them as Mpeg2, then load them into VirtualDub for processing with Deshaker. I then save the steady video as DivX, and reload back into Studio 12 for editing. Obviously, ...

  • Re: DVD content storage

jteaman: I want to get rid of all my VHS tapes. My original plan was to capture the video/audio; then edit out un-necessary parts; then burn content to DVD or CD (VCD or SVCD); then delete the capture file; then erase VHS tape. I went through this same process a few years ago (before I had Studio 12). I captured to standard 720x480 DV ...

  • Re: MP3 files get cut short in Studio 12?

I only tried a few MP3's, but had the same results with each of them. All were converted to MP3 from WAV's using Cool Edit 2000, though I may have run some MP3 utilities on them at a later date to add ID3 tags and whatnot. Anthony

  • MP3 files get cut short in Studio 12?

While working on a recent project, I tried to load some MP3 music files for the background soundtrack. Studio 12 lists them in the album, but if I add them to my project they get cut off. For example, one of my songs was 3 minutes, 30 seconds long, but Studio cut it off at 1 minute, 40 seconds. I couldn't drag the end to make it ...

  • Re: Aspect Ratio Problems in Studio 12

I figured it out myself from an unrelated post I found on the forum... 1. Change the project settings to use HDV2 for new projects 2. ''Select All'' in the windows edit menu 3. ''Copy'' the selected items to the clipboard 4. Start a new project (which will now be HDV2, 1440x1080i, 16:9) 5. ''Paste'' the items into the new project. One note, ...

  • Aspect Ratio Problems in Studio 12

OK, I spent all day editing a collection of over 30 HDV Mpeg2 clips (all 1440x1080, 16:9 that were converted from AVCHD files) into a 5 minute movie. All was well until I tried to make the movie back out to a HDV2 1080i Mpeg2. That's when I got an error saying something like ''aspect ratios are different''? I created the file anyway, and it ...

  • Better Speed/Time Lapse Options

I used Adobe Premiere 6 before moving to Studio 12, and the one feature I miss the most is a flexible adjustment of clip speed. I frequently film home improvement projects, sunsets, and other slow moving scenes that are much more enjoyable to watch sped up. The ''Speed'' tool in Studio is limited to 5 times normal speed, and I ...
