This is something that has bugged the jeepers out of me as well.
Create a nice menu layout only to have the sequence all out of whack. No rhyme or reason or logic to how the menu orders the chapter links regardless of how you lay out the menu.

Why offer a feature and not have it working properly? It's always puzzled me that companies offer something, add it to the product, then when it is not working propperly are slow to fix it if they do at all, and then tell the user to use another product to do the job. (just thinking out loud here)
As for the wmv I could do ...

I agree that Pinnacle SHOULD add the feature, but I would not hold my breath.
The grid I use hadbold lines every 10 and lighter lines avery 5.
I never have to ajust tighter than 5. And a smart man saves the new menu or title to reuse.

I use an image with a grid on it and pull it up as a background in either the titler or menu. Once i have the foreground all where I want it I drop the background grid image out and pull in the real background image or video.

I created an flv file to upload, so she could view it for the go ahead to burn, but the audio sounds choppy like a motorboat. The audio plays just fine ...

these are basicly throw away discs
they did mock interviews... then they look at them for critique.. thats it.
i did not shoot them, or i would have recorded right to DVD recorder for this.

I am in the process of putting 10 Mini DVs to CD roms (one each) Captured the files as MPGs at about 600mb each.
Is there any reason for me to convert them to WMVs? The wmv file compresses to about 200mb but the render is about 10 frames per second TOOOOOOOO slow (1.5 hr for a 30 minute finished).
Any thoughts?
Cheers

New update on this issue.
I am in the process of capturing a series of Mini DV tapes as MPEG2 files, as I typo this and so far I can capture sequencialy without dropping frames.
This is not being captured the same as I do my live for broadcast stuff, as it is only going form Mini DV to CD rom for review by the participants.
