• Re: How To Manage The C:\Render Folder?

Thanks for the tips. So long as it's okay to delete them, or they'll self-destruct on their own accord, I suppose it's nothing to worry about (I manually deleted 'em this time). Also, I usually have tried to set the aux files to be created in the external drive where Studio is installed, and I've noticed that there's an F:\Render folder as well. ...

  • How To Manage The C:\Render Folder?

Lately I've noticed that there's been a dramatic increase in the amount of hard drive space useage on my computer and I tracked down the culprit to a folder Studio installed in my C drive. The C:\Render folder is currently at 18 GB and climbing. It appears to be storing some kind of odd backup files for every project I've ever done. At this rate ...

  • Re: What to do about those pesky green "blips?"

They *should* be at 30 fps, though I've been known to tinker with my settings in that regard... you might've solved my problem though; will investigate what I've been doing with my output settings. Never tried that DV-AVI option however. I can't find it in the Make Movie menu. Do you mean the AVI file type option?

  • Re: What to do about those pesky green "blips?"

The originals are rendered from a 3d app. They run perfectly well with Windows Media Player, and also run without error in Studio. Occasionally when scanning the files a blue exlamation point appears, but when I back up and skim over the clip a second time the error does not appear. 9 out of 10 times they seem to render to MPEG-2 without error but ...

  • Re: 2 hour movie on a DVD with no quality loss?

Slysoft's url is http://www.slysoft.com. You can give CloneDVD a free trial there, but it's payware. I'm sure Nero does a good job too but I don't have it. In fact, Nero may well be more specifically geared toward this type of thing. I may give it a try myself next time.

  • What to do about those pesky green "blips?"

I've only had Pinnacle Studio for a few days thus far but am enjoying it very much. However my results remain something less than perfect. My first project burned to DVD successfully, with fully working menus and chapters and all intact as desired, however there were moments at which the video would freeze or go to a green screen (the audio ...

  • Re: 2 hour movie on a DVD with no quality loss?

One thing to keep in mind is that most commercial DVDs are more than 4.7 GB; they're burned on Dual Layer DVDs. In order to burn one onto a standard SL DVD you have to compress it, but really I don't think Pinnacle does all that good a job of compressing. Case in point: I did a project a couple days ago that ran about 98 minutes, eight ...

  • Re: Is There A Way To Condense The Menu?

Afraid I'm not entirely sure what you mean by DV-AVI, but I will certainly look it up and give that a go. I'm not working with imported video in this particular instance, however. The video is made up of several short but interconnectd clips of mpeg video I've created with a 3d app. I suppose if I were a professional one might call it a ''demo ...

  • Re: Is There A Way To Condense The Menu?

I finally got around to trying that ''Second Menu'' suggestion and it did indeed do the trick. My ''Hello World'' project was far from a complete success, however, so still much tweaking to be done. For one thing, an entire chapter simply would not render for some reason. The burning process kept stopping and giving me the error message ...
