I haven't yet found any instance of S11 doing Smart rendering. It seems to spend a lot of time working and making data, but has a memory like a sieve. Even if rendering stopped at 99%, it would still repeat the whole render from scratch.
Once you've 'rendered' a project, the output file which did have scene information seems to comes out as ...

I've been playing with AVI files using different editing packages and getting frustrated seeing similar problems on the S11 imports. All the different AVI formats I tried played fine in Windows Media Player, except for the data rate stuttering to be expected in HD.
I've come to the conclusion that S11 (probably S12), may only be ...

Yes, I agree that is better. Strange isn't it that re-rendering MPEG2 to MPEG2 seems to stand up, but AVCHD to anything else, even itself doesn't.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can have menus and chapters if the BDMV folder contains an MPEG stream.
In my PS3, only a BD structure with an AVCHD M2TS stream is identified as BD ...

I'm slowly coming round to a conclusion that any form of re-rendering of AVCHD at the current camera bit rates isn't going to give a good result - even with high end PC's. The same thing seems to be true if you try decoding to any other format. Once its left the camera with present consumer specs., it doesn't seem to have enough quality ...

You can check from the files you create looking at the pixels whether they are approximately 4/3 or 16X9. If for standard res. DVD they are correct, then your issue is what yout player/TV is making of the input.
A lot of people have their widescreen TV's set to automatically fill the screen because they would rather fill the screen with short fat ...

I used a similar feature in another application. Unfortunately the 'I'm going to close down' option didn't work when the app. threw up an error (while you were asleep). Instead of the App. just writing out to an error log and shutting down, it insisted on sitting there waiting for you to do something for hours until you woke up.
I'd be interested ...

jjn:I think it's more likely that they haven't bothered to improve the SD render routines to take into account quad cores.
S12 must be a downgrade then because S11 renders AVCHD through my Q6600 with ALL cores running 85 to 98%.
If you turn off background rendering, the first pass has low utilisation of all cores, but that pass is ...

Re-installs don't usually erase the project files, although if you have them somewhere other than C:, Studio reverts back to the default on C: and you just have to tell it under Project preferences where your folders are (otherwise you think you lost them!). Find the folder with .stx files and do a backup copy of the entire contents of the folder ...

If you can get other equally stressful programs to crash your pc then you won't start by looking for a Studio problem right?
Search and download prime95 version 25.5 (free). This is an incredibly stressful test which can run all 4 cores of your CPU flat out 100%. You MUST monitor your core and mobo temperatures whilst running ...

It looks like TitleDeco is Pinnacle/Avids own application for titles. Character generators and region profiles which use different character sets or keyboards probably have to be linked together in the application for it to run.
You would think when you first installed Studio, it would go and look at what language and keyboards you were ...
