Building my own PC is one of those things I should have done years ago (I've been a computer/PC professional for over 20 years now), but never got around to. But when I compared the price of building my own vs. buying one with the same specs, it turned out that building it myself cost me 1/2 what an equivalent commercial model would. ...

andrewturk1970:Question #2- I was looking at also going from my gforce 8800 to the radion series after reading that they are superior for video editing etc...
I see that there is the ATI Radion Diamond Multimedia HD 3870 X2 1gb. I saw it on Ebay for about $400.
I think it must be new, and the top end ...

andrewturk1970:i see you are using the ATI 1 gig card in your specs...
would you say you are happy with it ? recommend ?
It was a good video card for its time, but its time is past. :) I have an ATI 3850 coming from NewEgg to replace it. The X1300 did great on my old system (a Dell Dimension 8400), but it's ...

Driver Cleaner Pro used to be free, but even at $10 it's very worth it to have, not only for situations like this, but for making sure you clean off all old traces of a video card driver before you install/update new drivers.

I recently built my own PC for the first time from the ground up, and found excellent information of all types on the Tom's Hardware site: http://www.tomshardware.com/us/. It actually turned out to be very easy, and I got a nice high-powered PC for under $1k, buying everything I needed from NewEgg. Between the info I found on the web, and ...

I've been converting some old Hi8 tapes to digital, and I've run into this problem many times. You have to take a two-step approach: first, use one of the light or brightness/contrast filters to get the video to the brightness you want, and then apply one of the noise reduction filters. You'll have to manually tweak the NR filter ...

I don't know about rendering, but I replaced my 7200 RPM system drive with a raptor in my new PC, and it screams. It boots almost 2x as fast, and everything loads in about 1/2 the time it used to. Processor is a 3Ghz Core Duo, 4GB of RAM.

You can also do really fancy titles with ProDAD Heroglyph, which comes with the Extreme Title add-on or can be activated separately ($99 either way, I think). Many folks here really like BluffTitler (http://www.blufftitler.us/) which is cheaper but has to be used outside of Studio and imported into your project.

I know this is an old thread, but I came across it while searching for the solution to this problem. I recently built my own PC, and moved the hard drive from my old one to the new one and encountered this problem (the new one has better audio on the motherboard than the Creative Audigy I had in the old Dell). Anyway, I solved it by using ...

This is the first version of Studio I've ever used, so I have no comparison to older versions, but I do like it.
Anyway, yea, it could be the write speed. Instead of 'auto', try a lower speed and see what happens. Or, if you have another disk-burning software package, like Roxio or Nero, try using that to burn the disk instead. I've ...
