• Re: Converting VOB files

Suggest you convert the vob files with this excellent freeware, MPEGStreamclip, from this site: http://www.squared5.com/ and just import the resulting files. Regards /wizone

  • Re: 11.2 patch problem

Thank you for your interest and support, it is much appreciated. I have managed to get the computer to boot -- the install was apparently corrupted by Adobe Update deciding to run itself in the middle of everything, without my knowledge --- and I have done the standard Windows de-installation. I will work on step 2 time permitting....I ...

  • Re: 11.2 patch problem

Don't have, but then I always suspect there could be little quiet improvements to small bugs that don't get mentioned. I wish I had left well enough alone, as SU11.1 was running fine up to the install......but who knew? I always update. I sometimes regret it.....:)

Error message appeared at the end of the install process, and again when I tried to launch Studio Ultimate subsequently.

  • 11.2 patch problem

After installing the 11.2 patch, I get an error that ''ResCom1024.dll'' can't be found. There is a ResCom1024ul.dll, but renaming it didn't help. (I did find a generic ResCom1024.dll online but the installer wouldn't accept it, and I removed it) And now, maybe just by coincidence, my Dell 9300/xp sp2 system hangs on ...

  • Re: Good Computer Mic for Voice-over Use

We are using the Samson C01U at work as a voiceover mike, as the guru LewS recommends, and are pretty well satisfied with it; we put it on an OC White broadcast mount, in the Samson shockmount, and with a pop screen. Works great in (forgive me) Final Cut Pro. I have the C03U personally, it has rolloff, db pad and multiple ...

  • Re: Question about field recording for Wedding Videographers

The Marantz PM660 is a compact digital recorder with xlr plugs and (as I recall) phantom power. Writes to standard Compact Flash cards, does a good job. Several of the reporters at the radio department of our newsroom use them, and if they can stand up to those guys, well......our video team uses the Edirol R-09 recorders, which can ...

  • Re: on board microphone

Sorry for tardy reply, I've been away. Yes, you have to order the Tram that has the proper Sennheiser plug on it. B&H makes up a kit with the GW packs, the Tram mikes, and some other goodies, so I know they have that particular flavor of Tr50 available. We use them, they have the same 1/8 plug with screw mount that the stock ...

  • Re: on board microphone

We use the same Sennheiser wireless sets with 9 videographers with complete satisfaction except that the mikes are a little fragile & we have replaced al lot of them with another brand..suggesting maybe the problem isn't with the units but the mikes. If you want to consider that, you might like the Tram TR-50B lavaliers, ...

  • Re: Features That You Would Like New or Old to be in the NEW NLE

We'll be wanting support for the new Intel Penryn processors, with the SSE4 instruction set which will facilitate high-def video processing, I think...
