i5 is soon to be launched.A stripped down version of i7.Will still necessitate a new mobo, though.

The mag's name is,''VIDEOAKTIV''.It is a german magazine, and yes, the test was run on an 8 core Mac Pro, and as the ''grid wall'' thingy with no effects added on any of the clips.According to the mag the test was done with true native HDV.
But from what i have gathered from the posts so far,Liquid is still ahead of CS4.But i think a ...

I read recently in a german video mag reviewing AP CS4 that CS4 is now the multilayer realtime playback champ.CS4 was able to playback 10(!) layers of HDV clips in realtime, and it can do 16 layers of DV.Now,we all know that realtime capability has never been the forte of AP,but this is a quantum leap forward if it is true. The tested CS4 ...

But that is old news now, these days AL should be very attractive to Autodesk, since AL ...

Yeah,i knew when that app. was killed off,but if i remember correctly, discreet Edit was horrendously expensive for an editing app. before AutoDesk took it over, and the pricing actually crushed it out of existence.Fortunately AL is not like that. The pricing,i would think, should prove attractive to AutoDesk. There is no comparison here,AL is so ...
