Well, Neil.... Let me compare your question to this.
You're driving a Ferrari and you're very pleased with it (you like Liquid, don't you?). Now you're thinking about waiting for the new Ferrari model or accept the ''upgrade'' to a new Lamborghini.
I understand that given the current uncertain situation about the future of Liquid (or ...

I don't believe that a new product which is at least five months away will not include all the NEXTGEN technologies.
Nextgen coming out with no DX11 support? Sounds really impossible for me. This would be like developing a new X-BOX or PS using cartridges instead of DVDs or BDs.....
NextGen is going to be 100% Vista compatible (hopefully XP ...

Sorry, but I cannot believe that Jan was really serious when he said things like ''liquidate'' oder ''Liquid NEIN''. Since he said that, I always thought (the positive version) he was just kidding or (the negative one) ''what a poor excuse for changing an established name''.
First of all, ''liquidate'' ? Is there really anybody out there who ...

At the risk of beeing criticised for bringing in old arguments: I still believe that LIQUID is one of the best names for an NLE and all the things said about the reason why a change is needed don't make that much sense to me. For example the ''bad reputation'' among pro users argument....if Microsoft had changed the name of their products each ...

I didn't want to start an new thread, but I couldn't find another one dealing with this problem.
Is it possible to export just the video of a sequence in MPEG2? Even if my timeline doesn't contain an audio track, the MPEG file still needs to be demuxed (for example in dvdLab).

No, no, no. Neither can I, nor will I believe that this is what Avid / pinnacle wants to achieve.
imho in the future we are going to see 3 ''areas'' in the Avid universe.
1. The professionals / broadcaster: Media composer & co.
2. Semi professionals: Nexgen
3. Home users: Studio
We know that the next app is not going to have the ...

Here's what Lews wrote on page 5 of the ''Name the new Liquid'' thread:
''This is getting stupid really. The next version of Liquid will not be studio. It will be an advanced editing application designed to compete with Vegas, Premiere and similar programs. It will not be dumbed down. It will not be a studio plus. It will be an advanced ...

sverkalo you're so right! How could I forget this? vob import is definitely a must!
If the authoring tool is going to work the way it needs to, it shouldn't be a problem to import a complete DVD project with all the menues either.

Hm....maybe it's not necessary to mention that, but....
If for any technical or whatever reason it wouldn't be possible to import L7 projects into nexgen....this would be a potential candidate for the top spot on my deal breaker hitlist.
