Again the point is lost. I'm not an 'unsupported' kinda guy. So the cost of an approved machine for MC is a real issue.
-
What gets lost in these discussions is the cost of a machine 'authorised' for MC. How much would that cost on top of the software?
TVJohn is right about the small shops - I'm one of those who earns their living in the wedding video market, and hires in students for editing from time-to-time.
Cost is a major issue for me and I do not ...

My experience with the HC3, which is an excellent consumer HDV camcorder, is that the problem has not got worse - I've been using the camera for over a year with the issue. A couple of re-inserts, combined with turning the device off and on always sorts it.
The cost of repairing an FX1 is not going to be within £20 of buying a new one.

Hi Dave
I have this problem with my HC3 (but not, thankfully, the fx1 or Z1 that I also use. On the HC3 it gives an error message as well somthing like c32 or 33? I Googled this a while ago and there is a lot written about this problem. most people think it is a mechanism rather than tape problem. The stuff I read was all ...

I'll take another look at my trail.

TVJohn:After this much time, a mere statement of intent from Avid pertaining to the eventual delivery of the product would hardly dilute any shock and awe collateral, but it might stem the erosion of potential customer.
Avid's business, Avid's call, one man's opinion.
I couldn't agree more TVJohn - opinion shared

I have been told by the technical manager at the video editing company I use that if I changed my processor from the present dual core 3.2ghz to a 3.02ghz i7, I would gain nothing and quite possibly see a reduction in performance due the the way in which the architecture in the new chips wors, which Liquid cannot take advantage of.

According to the presenter. Edius is almost 100% stable (one or so hangs a year).
I got the impression that the secondary colour correction is its big weakness. It had a brilliant white balance tool though.
I'd still prefer that Avid / Pinnacle delivered though.

As it says in the title.
The presenter is a) a digital video system seller including all of the main apps, b) an amateur film producer in his own right and c) an ex-liquid devotee.
He was demonstrating Edius as well Adobe and Apple products at the UK Institute of Videography convention last week. He has personally moved from Liquid ...

My copy of L7.2 is clearly in denial, and thinks its a sprightly young thing. It'll be even more sprightly when it gets its CPU, GPU and drives upgraded in the autumn.
