i can confirm that iam now running vista with the 2900xt card and am not experiencing any of the gpu effect issues that were reported previously. I guess the new ati drivers plus vista sp1 fixed something.

yeh..i havent tried with Vista since we had that problem before. Iam reinstalling my system as i type now.

cool..that was the only issue i have been having with Liquid. I guess ill dust off my Vista disk then.

mjolnarn, if you drop a 2d gpu effect, do you not see a drop is color/quality? One of the issue that was confirmed with the 2900xt card in the old forums was the drop in quality when using gpu effects. Ill look for that thread on the old forums.

the 2900xt is a very good board. Besides the issues with gpu effects, i havent come across any other issues with it on Liquid. Highly recommended.

while i havent yet tried this i wonder if there are any benefits of reducing the acceleration. If we reduce the acceleration, and the problem is resolved, is the performance impairement enough to render gpu effects useless? On another note, i hope PInnacle provides us with an update on how the dx10 patch is going. Assuming that it will come out ...

looks like 'nextgen' seems more likely to be studio pro. everything that studio currently has plus enhancements that currently studio users want.

i guess you would be fine if i spell mjolnarn as mjlnan or something else. I run windows 2008 because i dont use my machine for just editing. Iam a software engineer and need it for my other work. Win2k8 is not a lot diffyerent from Vista. You actually get the option to boot into vista when you install win2k8. GPU effects have issue with the 2900 ...
