• Re: Old hardware with new software

Oh, that doesn't sound too good. When comparing this with the higher versions it only mentioned that this version doesn't do high definition, blue ray etc. so I suppose I assumed it would at least do everything my old Studio v8 would do which included menus, moving titles and all. Why do I always assume new software ...

Oh well, I have bought the Studio 12 Basic for £25 plus postage so hopefully that will work. I will let you know the outcome when it is installed. If I've done the wrong thing and I hear screams of 'no, no' then I can always send it back unopened.

I'm sure the card is the newer version, so Studio 12 should be okay. My digital camcorder is the Sony DCR-HC35E and looks like it might work if I can find the right lead in my box of leads! However, I do have a lot of 3 hour video tapes and to capture and edit them in sections involves a lot of winding and re-winding! I'm hoping the blueBOX ...

Thank you for all the helpful comments. The picture looks exactly like my hardware, and the screw is near the blue box connector, so I must have the newer version. In case anyone wants this information, it came with Studio de Luxe v 8.8.15c bought from PC World in the UK in March 2004. I bought this to edit and transfer my old home video ...

I have read your post several times and am sure that the screw is near the blue box connection so it must be the newer type. However, all three connections are horizontal so there isn't anything at the 'bottom' as described in your post. I will have to upgrade to Studio 12 but can I be sure the software will recognise the analogue signal ...

  • Re: Old hardware with new software

Thank you for your help. My original program (which came with the hardware) was Studio de luxe version 8.8.15c. I now have Vista 32 bit on my new computer. The version 10 disk I have is not an upgrade, it's the full version and the disk says Studio SE version 10 but when I try and install this Vista won't accept it, and it takes me to a web ...

  • Old hardware with new software

For a few years I have been using Studio de Luxe version 8 with Windows XP and then upgraded to version 10. Now I've bought a new computer with Windows Vista and the version 10 won't install as it says it's not compatible with Vista. Okay, I accept that I'll have to upgrade my software, but my main concern is that I'll still be able to capture ...
