  • Re: Re:Recognition by Studio of Input Device

Thanks for the information - I think that information does need to be escalated to Corel to add to the already-known information about the bug. IMO it's made more serious if a failed attempt to capture from an HDV source via Firewire can then permanently break subsequent attempts to capture standard DV from that source! Unfortunately I don't have ...

  • Re: Re:Recognition by Studio of Input Device

Sorry I probably misunderstood - I thought that you were trying to capture stuff from both DV and HDV (and that after failing to capture HDV, Studio 23 had lost the ability to capture DV too). Glad that you can still capture OK using Studio 19

Bob keen:...It is odd though that when I return to a DV tape that it still refuses to recognise that...Did you try playing the DV tape using the camera's controls or simply load it? Maybe the camera's Firewire output remains at the ''last used'' format until a tape recorded in the other format is played? There might be some control in its menus ...

  • Re: Exported audio sync issue

Tony P:...the format was MP4 from Panasonic G9... A/V sync errors due this particular bug would not be expected as your source file does not have AC-3 audio. If you are able to use an existing MTS file having AC-3 audio (and easily-visible audio/video cues), or create one, and do an MP4 export from that MTS file, it would be interesting to see ...

Tony P:...They were the same 1080 50P clip two times...What format was the source file? The A/V sync bug appears only to occur when the source is a transport stream (MTS) file having AC-3 (Dolby) audio Regards,Richard

  • Re: Exported audio sync issue

jjn:Just for clarity, you are only seeing this with MTS files? Yes, furthermore the A/V sync error occurs with MTS files having AC-3 audio only; I created an MTS file having PCM audio and used that as the source for the export, the audio remained in sync. Combinations tested:MTS file having AC-3 (Dolby 2-channel) audio - export as MTS or MP4 ...

  • Re: Exported audio sync issue

I've now done some tests here using PS23.1.1.242 Ultimate... A/V sync problem occurs with both NTSC and PAL - but here is far worse with NTSC; in a 5 minute test project the error was 0.56 seconds for PAL and 0.92 seconds for NTSC (in both cases the audio ''gets ahead'' of the video. And I can now see that the reason why I did not observe the ...

  • Re: Exported audio sync issue

FWIW - I've just completed a series of long MP4 exports where all of the source clips were from s PAL AVCHD camcorder, which records as MTS files (HD 1920x1080 / 50i) with AC-3 (Dolby 2-channel) audio. And no A/V sync issues observed in preview or in the exported files. But I only work with ''PAL'' video (25 or 50 frames/sec), never at other ...

  • Re: Graphics Card Problem?

With ''progressive'' settings Studio will de-interlace the video for export (in my experience seems to do a perfectly adequate job of it); movement might not appear to be quite as smooth as you've gone from updating the picture 50 times per second (albeit half-resolution fields) to only 25 times per second (updating the entire frame). But, ...

  • Re: Graphics Card Problem?

Wasn't there an issue with transitions a while back? (can't remember whether it was in PS22 or PS23...)PAL (25fps) projectTransition was created in ''Maintain Timeline Sync'' mode, and was an odd number of frames (e.g. 1 second)If Bob's title that blacks out is touching or overlapping such a transition, maybe he's found a new trigger for that old ...
