• Re: Why does Studio 11 create 2 .wav files ?

IIRC that L+R / L-R multiplexing trick was only ever used for FM radio (allowed mono receivers to tune into stereo broadcasts). Another possibility for the original poster's camcorder is that if it is capable of surround (4-channel) recording that it delivers the front L&R audio in one of the .WAV files and the rear L&R ...

• Re: S11 Alpha Magic Problem

I had similar issues when installing some custom alpha magic transitions in S10 and had to resort to a bit of witchcraft to get it working. I posted a question on the web board a while back (here) but didn't get an answer. One thing in my post that may not be necessary is to delete the *.org files as these seem to be releted to ...

• Re: Scyncronizing 2 Videos

My gut-feeling is that a time difference of 1 second in 25 minutes is too high to be accounted for simple drift (I would hope for no worse than +/-0.01% for mini DV) - so the large sync. difference might be down to frame drops. FWIW with my cameras I typically get a 1 or 2 frame offset in an hour of 2-camera mini DV footage; I manually ...

• Re: How to use old smartsound with S11 Help

That ''asking for the Pinnacle music disc'' is because the Smartsound plugin cannot find the music (either because it was installed somewhere other than in the default folder, or because it erroneously thinks that the music is not actually installed on the hard disk. (a) If the installation from ''smartsound pinnacle music.exe'' or whatever ...

• Re: How to Burn DIRECT to DVD without caputring on PC?

A completely off-topic anwer - just don't use the PC or any video captuiring/editing application at all. Find yourself a cheap set-top DVD-video recorder that supports Firewire input for camcorders; record each tape onto a disc at the recorder's ''HQ'' quality setting (~1 hour per 4.7GB disc). After writing finalize the disc and you can play it ...

• Re: Smart Sound vs. Scorefitter

My $0.02... From my PC building experience nearly all motherboards I have used with on-board sound - even ones with decent 7:1 surround and HD audio capable chipsets - still seem to offer very poor MIDI support and rely on that manky ''Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth'' (so sound rather like a child's toy ...

• Re: Anyone Else Having This Problem?

Yes, I have the same ''problem'' - I can see only one page of threads here (as of 7 Jan 08 about 30 threads - even though the post count said 53). I assumed that it was simply down to a bug in the post count; for example the count may still be including threads that have been moved or deleted. • Re: Windows-XP, Maxtor external hard drive

I think the issue is not one of drive recognition - just that the original poster would like Windows to offer him the choice ''Edit Video with Pinnacle Studio'' (same as one of the options that pops up when you connect a DV camcorder to the Firewire port). I don't think Windows offers that choice for disks containing video content - only for ...

• Re: Is there a registry cleaner like Studio's "Regdelete" for Liquid?

FYI I have discovered that the version of Regdelete released for Studio 11 (download link on the UK support site here) can clean entries for Liquid too. I tried the Lexun Regscrub as well; in the interest of tidiness I got rid of some stale entries it found relating to stuff that had been uninstalled - but thankfully there were no ...
• Re: Is there a registry cleaner like Studio's "Regdelete" for Liquid?

Thanks Lew, I had not noticed that there was also the same hyperlink in the ''sticky'' in the old Liquid forum Downloaded OKI - will give it a try - certainly much newer than the (probably defunct) thing that my ill-directed Googling found... Thanks,Richard
