acsscott:Taiyo Yuden is a pretty good manufacture
FWIW - Taiyo Yuden left the consumer optical disc market a few years ago - IIRC TY-branded discs are now made by CMC (the ones I've used do seem to be sticking to the original TY recipe and work well). But I don't recall them ever making any double-layer DVDs.

I've mostly used the Verbatim DVD+R DL printable (no-id) (#43667) and had consistently good results from them. My burners also set the book type to DVD-ROM automatically for double-layer +R discs (which seems to work well for ancient players that don't directly recognise +R discs). I believe that double-layer -R are less well supported by older ...

Hi Steve,
In answer to your questions:
For the intended use of the videos (save to external HDD for viewing on TV or possible later upload) - MP4 files with H.264 coding are the best choice (Studio's MP4 export using the H.264/AVC format)
To check and set the project's timeline format - there's a ''Timeline Settings'' tool over on the left of ...

The file I have here is named as StudioPatch12_1_3_6605a.exe
But if you are installing under Windows 10 2004 or 20H2, you might encounter an issue with the file; it is a self-extracting (WinRAR?) archive and Windows Defender may block the self-extractor as being malicious - with no option to override and install anyway! If that happens to you, use ...

What is the purpose of the export?Simple ''conversion'' for archiving to save on disk space? An edited movie that will be watched on some device? For archiving, until recently I used MPEG-2 -> DVD quality - gives a frame size the same as DV source and a video bit rate of 6000kbit/sec - and should give a picture quality comparable to ...

saby:What's the point of this thread ?
I think the thread starter may have tried to include one or more screenshots to show whatever it was that is different between PS18 and PS24 - but failed (they may have tried to use ''insert/edit image'' from the message toolbar)? (IIRC that button has never worked).
But without those images or text ...

redbird:No, that's not it. There really is no audio to speak of on the exported video. On the PC, I use the Movies & TV app. It can play 5.1 surround. Even on my DLNA server, there is no audio. And as I said, I took another project that I created in a previous version of Studio and successfully exported to 5.1 and used 24 Ultimate and ...

redbird:This is driving me crazy. I just upgraded from 21 Ultimate to 24 Ultimate. I have mixed audio in a project to 5.1 surround sound. But when I export to MPEG-2 with 5.1 surround sound, I lose all audio. I even opened a project I did with 21 Ultimate and had successfully exported to 5.1 surround sound. But no, 24 Ultimate loses the audio on ...
