Avid DVD is for sure a weird animal... I mean while it can't import my m2t unless I change the extension, it does import fine m2v directly from Liquid (both SD and HD) without doing so. Maybe the container it's being the problem here. However yes it does import them fine Ed. Be sure however when they are 16:9 ratio to check the 4:3 Aspect ...

Avi's I think yes. m2v (as m2t) you have to change the extension to mpeg to be imported. At least this is the case with m2t files which I send to Avid DVD. We are talking about Avid DVD.

You need metafuze to transcode the r3d files to a DNxHD format and then to import to MC.

Yes but if you don't buy the upgrade now you will have to pay 2200 plus the new upgrade. Avid brings upgrade almost twice the year. But the upgrade policy is really fair.
