Except from the VGA and the audio card I don't see any problem for SD and HDV projects at all. I am working at the laptop with almost anything unsupported (W764, 8600 VGA and Realtek HD) though and fail to see any problem. I would go at W7 64 bit as well. Get it to service. Because this could indicates a more serious problem about the head.

While the CPU and the mobo are very good are one step behind. As the mobo doesn't support SATA III or USB III. And a new buyer MUST take those under consideration.

I had to use 2 subtitles and 2 different languages for making a BD back at summer. With Avid DVD that was a piece of cake and it took me not more than 2 days to find out how and to finish it. I think Avid DVD is powerful yet very easy to use.
