Within 15 days there have been more than 5000 new registration for the program.
I think that there will be payable upgrades for codecs and for I/O cards. And as the program will be Open Source, more people / companies will be able to produce plugins and hardware.

All of those years, you had a doubt about it?
I just needed to go on as I am editing(and directing) for a living.
I do not do other jobs and editing is my hobby.

If we support it, it could be the so called Next Gen for us but a lot better.
I remember the rumors were that NextGen will be something like a Studio Pro
with some options for more to buy out if you wanted.
Lightworks is at that road.
And in the end I don't see what we have to miss.
We all somehow have been bittered from the inglorious end ...

A little bit of topic:
I support of the Lightworks Open Source announcement.
This is a great surprise for me.
I don't know yet how much the additional codecs (DNxHD, Prores and others) will cost.
But even as it is a FREE Lightworks which seems like many features editors love to have come together
looks like an unbelievable offer.
