I have done this with Nero at the past with an older version just for test. It worked fine.

My old time favorite going better. I wish I'll have the money.

I would also buy an EX1 (EX3 is ugly ;)) and the media are cheap if you use the adapters which can hold plain SDHC cards.

Of course this comes up when the ambient sound is low. Even at manual gain you can hear the mechanism...  

HV30/HV40 is awesome when it comes to image quality but the sound is a miss. An absolute failure when it comes to sound even with an external mic. It records every sound from the body of the camera and worse of all, the tape mechanism sound. After several months tests, I came to conclusion that even for 100 euros I wouldn't buy it again,

And this depends on the countries. Every country has a different law for that.  

The output quality is excellent. I find that it can't give me frame accurate output as to size. Not a great lack though.
