I am currently editing an HD video captured from a Sony HC5 so I assume it is possible from the HC9 also.
Just out of interest - where in the manual does it say you can't?

Do you know if it is possible to create a High Def AVCHD disk on a Dual Layer DVD (giving an hour of video)?

I have tried to upload to the FTP server but it won't accept my image files (I can upload smaller files so it may be something to do with size - maybe size is important after all!)
Alternatively, I can send by post if you let me know your postal details (I am in the UK).

Hi. I am not sure of the make of the DVD recorder as it was recorded for me by someone else. I can try and find out though.
Yes the DVD does contain both a TS and RM folder. I can send a DVD image if required.

Yes I believe that is the case - normal resolution but low bit rate. I will try with Nero Recode.

Yes it does have some frozen frames - but not until about 2 hours into it. Then there is a frozen frame until the end of the 6 hour MPEG file.
It was recorded with an LP recording mode on a DVD recorder.
Do you know of any other software that will allow me to get an MPEG2 file from my 3 hour DVD?

I have tried to import a DVD title that is 3 hours long and have ended up with a 6 hour MPEG2 file instead.
It is a DVD that was recorded on a DVD recorder. I am running Studio 12.1.3 latest.

He has a Blu Ray player and also his project is over an hour, so probably not suitable in this case, but thanks for that anyway.
How do I know if it will create a standard DVD or 20-minute HD DVD?

I am editing a video for a friend. He has shot the video in HD but I only have a DVD burner so would need to downscale the final result. What format is best to have set as the project format?
