VE7AXO:I believe that both the i5 and i7 are quad core processors, and Liquid can only utilize two cores at a time, so having hyperthreading (eight cores in effect) probably won't make a noticeable improvement. The price difference between the i5 and the i7 should be more of a deciding factor, IMHO.

It comes down to the fact Studio is still being advanced. It can output to different forms of HD where Liquid can edit but not output to BLRay. Also to edit ACHVD you can in Studio but not in Liquid. Newer HD cameras are file based and use capture media other than tape so editing such is transfer from capture medium to hard drive rather than ...

1st it is required for the DX10 patch! My edit machine has always seemed to run smoother after the Sp3 update and DX10 update. But I do this for a living so I need my machine to work as expected especially when clients are working along side me.........Edd

You show Win XP SP2 in your specs and you show 6 gig of ram. Some have had issues with anything over 4 gig in Win XP. How come you haven't updated to SP3?

Are you on 7.1 with the DX10 patch or 7.0? And are you using a USB attached drive?

DStone:The logger always decouples the audio from the video. The EZCapture utility captures in a single AVI wrapper.
Dave even if it captures separate audio and video when you fuse it shouldn't they become one muxed clip on output?

Is that video card listed actually in your machine? Check that render drive is defragged and is pointed to the correct directory.
