Thanks Dave. Sounds positive. I'll look into the HV40.
I don't really want to sell the FX1, it's a case of needs must in the current climate.

I'm considering some downsizing options which may involve selling my Sony HDR FX1 and buying a cheaper consumer HDV camcorder. Part of the reason for this route would be to be able to playback tapes shot on the FX1. In theory HDV is a standard and so this shoudl work, but I just wondered if there are any gotchas in this ?
Any ...

Today I have installed and run Liquid 7.2 including TitleDeko Pro using the Compatability Mode option using Windows 7 Home Premium Edition.
The compatability mode options which were there in Vista are present in W7 Home Premium.
What is missing is a new virtualisation system which provides in theory a lower level 100% XP compatability for driver ...

But ... how would moving to another editor solve that problem: if an existing Liquid editt won't load into the new Liquid, I'm sure it won't have any chance in another editor.
Of course I don't expect any other editor to ...

I've come late to this thread so apologies if this has been raised. It's a bit obvious but sometimes it's worth stating the obvious.
It must have the ability to load projects from previous versions of Liquid and upgrade them to the new format. If I couldn't load in my backup projects from Liquid then that would make me look ...

Vista 32 bit. Editing HDV with no issues.

I'm currently editing HDV material shot on my Sony FX1 using Liquid 7.2.
Once finished I'd like to output to HD Video files that I can play back ideally over the netwoork in my living room. Playback will be on projection system which has high def component video connections (which I have used directly with the FX1 and high def cable TV ...
