Lew is right. Wait for MC 6, I'm an old Liquid user & was upset like many others about its demise. BUT  the Switch to MC was worth it. There is a learning curve but its not that bad with all the help avaiable. The power of MC is remarkable.

Maybe Apple does not want to compete in the pro market anymore, they may see the I-phone ,I-pad ,I-cloud market as the place the real money will be made in the future & leave Avid & Adobe to fight over a shrinking ''Pro'' market

I dont have an XD cam but got my hands on a Canon XF 105 which has a similar codec. I could not Xreceive them. I think if you got the Sony Utility & put them on a HD you could then import them. This worked with the Canon utility program for me.
