• Re: Yerky Playback

Come to think of it, you're right Thomas.... it was 1440x1080 35Mb material... (XDCAM HD is 1440...).... R

• Re: Capture & Output from / to Sony HVR-M15U

VideoBob, Check what Dave S. wrote... and then restart both Liquid and the Sony '15.... Dave has it right when he says that Sony HDV devices need to be in explicit HDV mode to operate correctly.... R
• Re: Yerky Playback

.... just to add to the above, one of the first Chrome Xe systems that we put into service was running a single AMD X2 +4800 - which I would have thought would be significantly slower than your twin 3.6G Xeons... and Liquid ran fine.... no stalls, jerks, yerks, or bings... certainly not as fast as the quads we use now, but still fast ...

...it could also be related to the speed of the PCI-e slot that the Xena card is sitting in... In a distant dark memory somewhere I seem to recall that some motherboards may have a 4x or 16x secondary PCI-e slot but that they might actually only run at a significantly slower speed (like 1x...). If it's a 1x, I don't think the Xena will run too ...

...just confirm the shooting frame rates and whether it's interlaced or progressive for me.... I'll check the video card driver revision as soon as I can access one of our machines today... Also, out of interest, is the Blackmagic card sitting in your machine at the same time as the AJA Xena??? If so, what do you use it for.?? I'm ...

• Re: Yerky Playback

Hi again All, I was assuming that Mark was already ''re-wrapping'' the MP4 files from the EX3 via the Sony Clip Browser software because he mentioned ''MXF''... I just use the re-wrap to ''MXF for NLE..'' option and then import the resultant MXF files straight into Liquid - using the appropriate timeline settings for either the SQ (1440x1080 ...

• Re: Digitizing issue

Hi Graham, This still sounds an awfull lot like a media''Quality Rank'' issue to me... Just to be sure, check your timeline properties and ensure that FX quality is set to ''High Quality'', and that the Desired Media Quality and the Min Media Quality are both set to ''Normal'' (it sounds funny, but these items don't mean what a lot of people ...
• Re: Yerky Playback

Nothing yerky at this end using footage from the EX3... Running on a Q6600 quad with an X1950.... so as far as I can see, it's certainly not a Liquid problem...

• Re: Where are the Chrome Xe users?

Guys, We all have our favorites... I wouldn't get rid of my Xe's in a fit, but the harsh reality is that FCP is practically everywhere in Australia.... I was 1st DA on a 4 day shoot this week - Genesis camera's, Techno cranes, more Grips and Gaffers than you could poke a stick at... What did they use for Video playbacks??? FCP on a laptop.... and ...
