I have resolved the problem by formatting the HDD and re-installing Windows XP with SP3 and then Liquid 7.2. I'm running no other software on the PC, other than Nero 7, Anti Virus and Power DVD. The restore now works. I can only surmise that a previous system crash or an install of some software has corrupted Liquid 7.2.      

I have 12 projects backed up across three external HDD's and two internal HDD's and all fail to restore. I think my only solution is to format the HDD and re-install Windows and Liquid and see if it works on a clean install. We'll see what happens after that......    

BTW when the error message is displayed you have to kill LIquid using Task Manager as the software hangs the PC.

Yes. I've never had a problem before. The project I'm trying to restore has been previously restored under 7.2on several occasions. StudioU.mod  has the following details: File Version: 7.2.0.4296 Product Version 7.2
