I had similiar problems at one point on my machine with S12.  A couple things you could try that helped me:   1. Disable hardware acceleration in Studio. 2. Increase you PCI latency in the system bios from 32 to 64. It may or may not help but worth a shot...it got me through a few hurdles.

Yah. Already tried the delete aux files, but for some reason it wont delete all of them. Leaves like1951mb.  I had back ground render turned off, I will turn it on and let it render the project first.  I tried your suggestion of copying the current project in to a new one, did not work for this.  Interesting stuff on the 9800, ...
