It would be really sad to see Studio go away..... It is the program that got me interested in video editing years ago. And although I have had my share of frustrations with it, I've have generated some nice work product out of it.
Although I use a higher-end NLE for most work now, I still like to fire up Studio 14 when I want ...

Tezzeret,
Can you please verify on a Studio 14 Windows 7 64 bit install exactly what directory/folder the Pixie folder installs under?
It would be most appreciated.
Thanks,BJBBJB

JTT,
Thanks! Can you verify if the Pixie folder is in the same location on Win7 64 as it is in Vista 64. Or just let me know the path, that's really what I need to make sure I put it in the right place pre-install. It makes things so much easier.
Thanks,
BJBBJB

I've installed several Studio versions and currently have Studio 14 running fine on Vista 64.
I am now installing Studio 14 on a new hard drive with Windows 7 64 bit.

Raff_Uy,
Thanks again for this but I had an additional thought. This file is a Blu-Ray rendered and compressed file at this point.
In ''make movie'' Is there a way to output an uncompressed HD stream audio (I know it would be mono) and video to a file or back to HDV on tape (Mini-DV HD tape)? I know I would do this once ...

Raff_Uy,
Thanks, that must be it. There are 2 files/streams there though so will have to figure out what is what.
Thanks,

I remember reading this in a post quite a while ago. And I can't find it!
When rendering a project to Blu-Ray with Studio 14, I remember reading that studio generates a complete HD output file with the audio and video during the rendering process. Was it an .m2ts file?? To be clear I am not talking about a ''make move to ...

Indeed it can be misleading. And, we have had for some time, various issues with disc space estimation leading to less-than-full recordable media. However, your findings that
''if we set the kbits/sec to 25000 (custom quality) we can get approx 2hrs on a blu ray disc 25gb which is correct for 1920 x 1080p. At kbits/sec 40000 ...

Let's not pile on and confuse two issues here. Re-encoding is a normal part of any NLE depending on what you are editing in natively. This thread is talking about the ''make movie'' issue of recording quality and whether it is in fact affecting the output quality or if it is just cosmetic. Depending on whether you start with AVCHD ...

Kelster,
I know you are frustrated but the Pinnacle employees that participate in this forum are our allies. In most cases (I Said MOST), issues are addressed and eventually corrected so give them the opportunity to research and respond.
I guess your issue and my issue here is how long will this take to correct. I too waited for this ...
