After the capture stops, can you start a new capture starting the tape where it had stopped? If so, you can combine the two clips in studio on the timeline. If the capture stopped because of defective video from the tape, you might have to skip a portion before beginning the next capture.

It sounds like it could be a format problem on your HD. If your HD is formatted as FAT32 the largest file size is 2gb. One hour of video in dv requires 13 gb. Reformat your HD as NTFS. You can do this while logged in as an administrator, go to disk management in control panel. File size in NTFS will handle all of your video needs. You will not ...

Even though my ATI 9700 Pro video card is listed on the approved list at ProDad, I was getting a message when I start VitaScene that it might not be adequate. I installed the upgrade to 10.0.31 and I don't get this message any longer.

I am disappointed to see that this thread has faded away without any response from Pinnacle. I'm still hoping for a reply.
One test which seems to be repeatable is to take a clip, say one that is 30 secs duration, and one that has changing video so you can determine where you are in the clip. Go into the clip about 10 seconds, make a razor cut, ...
