I would suggest that you first make an image backup of your drive using something like Acronis True Image. Now you can do whatever you like with Studio, and if all fails, you can restore your image and be back to where you began.

There have been many posts mentioning problems caused by uninstalling previous versions of Studio. If it were me, I would make an image backup of my drive, remove the previous versions, then see if everything still works. If not, I could restore my image and be back where I started.

In order for you to get assistance you need to provide information as to what hardware you are using to transfer your vhs tapes to your computer?

If you have a program such as Adobe Audition or the free Audacity, you can set it to record and it should record whatever you hear on your speakers. You might have to set your audio player control to ''Stereo Mix''.
