Is the upgrade version 12.1.3.6650 safe to install without losing SmartSounds? If so this will be my last upgrade until the end of the tunnel is in sight.
Thanks

Thanks guys. I think I will keep both... especially if I ever need to edit and re-burn a V11 project. You are correct. It really isn't much disk space.
Thanks for the help.

I just upgraded to Version 12 from 11. Many here said I should just upgrade go I get all of the plug ins I already paid for. Now I have version 11 and 12 on my computer and lots less disk space. I thought htis was an upgrade. What's going on here. If I have 12, why do I need 11?
Thanks, Chuck

Excellent! Thanks for the info. I will install version 12 tomorow. I am real tired of closing and opening 11 to get the sound to work again.

Thanks Igor,
This info helps a great deal. With all of that said, Is there a way I can get more than 720x480 in a Studio format that my Hi Def TV can look at? It seems like I am giving up a great deal of image going from my camera's 1440x1080 down to the HDV standard of 720x480. Can I get higher resolution in any DVD using my ...

OK, thanks. I think that HDV is what I am doing now. I really enjoy this ''hobby'' but I am not too literate on the different format, BittMann. I don't think my camera will do AVCHD, does it? If not then I would like to get my resolution above 720x480. The camera is certainly capable of 1080 but I can't seem to burn a ...

I am a version 11 user and I purchased 12 to get rid of the sound handle problems and to get the new features and be able to make hi def (Blue Ray) DVDs. Except for the bugs, 11 works well on my current computer.
In another thread, a user said that I must now upgrade to a quad core motherboard to use 12, something in the fine print, ...

I have a standard, tape, hi def Canon camera. I am not using AVCHD, but I purchased V12 to do blue ray since I only have standard wide screen 720x480 DVDs right now. I guess I should have read the requirements before purchasing. Ver 12 was said to be ''more stable'' and had fixed the volume handle issues, so I upgraded. Now ...

Sooo, I have ver 12 on my book shelf and I am reading about installing it today and I have a single core Intel (see my profile). Should I NOT upgrade (even though older versions are no longer supported). Isn't that a double standard? Now I am concerned about installing V12 (even though V11 is buggy). I bought V12 to do ...

OK, I fixed it. I created a new project and took all the same files that were in my failed master and dropped them into a new project. It worked like a charm.
This could not possibly be ''pilot error'' but rather another in the long string of bugs that we pay to get resolved by buying newer versions. I love Studio ...
