Denmarfl,  Its been a while since I did it, but it is possible to use DVDs and DVD-DL so make AVCHD disks.  Not all, but most Blu-Ray players will play these off of these disks.  However, the capacities are small.  If your projects are short, you might be able to get away with it.  But, you can get full HD this way ...
