• Re: Aligning a Clip Marker to a Timeline Marker by Snapping

jjn:No problem John and thanks for mentioning the book :-) TBH it was to your book that I looked first regarding this important feature! (I then found your entry on IMDb to compare with my own page there!) I have another Feature Request (that I used often in Liquid Edition) but will make that a separate entry.

jjn:Yes, this would be a useful addition, along with the ability for snapping to work on the ends of clips as well the begining. I guess it might need to be made optional - either in the control panle or with a modifier key (if there are any left!) Thanks for endorsing my request, Jeff, and I am greatly enjoying 24 Revealed!

  • Re: Re:Waveform Goes Missing

acsscott:Does it appear if you click on the equalizer icon to edit the audio on the timeline? Not sure (will try it) but you shouldnt have to do any of these things - the waveform was there until I detached the audio and it moved to the track below. I put another audio clip on that same track (not shown in my illustration above) and its ...

  • Re: Re:Waveform Goes Missing

Traveller:This problem also exists in earlier versions of Studio (PS21 & PS22). Sometimes the Waveform takes a while to appear and sometimes it never appears. Adjusting the length of the audio clip or removing it and re-adding it to the timeline or as Saby said adjusting the zoom level of the timeline sometimes forces the Waveform to ...

acsscott:Zoom levels? I thought saby was talking about adjusting the width of the timeline slider? Not the size of the tracks. Tried both and neither resulted in the waveform being shown.

saby:Sometimes, slightly modifying the zoom level of the timeline solves the issue. Tried all zoom levels but no joy! Furthermore, when the waveform on other clips/tracks does show, the graphic display of waveform seems to represent the audio very loosely, making audio editing less straightforward than it should be.

jjn:Yes, I said it was a workround. I've been using it for about 10 years now. Liquid was made by Pinnacle and adopted, then dropped, by Avid. In case you hadn't noticed. Studio was rescued by Corel and Pinnacle is just a brand now. The programming team is based in Asia and the product management is totally different. So I don't think it would ...

  • Aligning a Clip Marker to a Timeline Marker by Snapping

Previously I extensively used Pinnacle Liquid Edition to edit countless documentaries, often requiring to align a marker placed in a clip to a marker on the timeline. This was accomplished by grabbing the clip marker and, with it, sliding the clip along its track until it snapped to the marker I had placed on the timeline. Typically the clip ...

  • Re: Re:Aligning Clip Marker to a Timeline Marker

But these are all rather unwieldy workarounds! Hate the idea of trimming a clip to use the In point to line up with a timeline marker with all the work involved each time you want to nudge it a frame or two - its so easy if the clip marker is magnetic to timeline markers. When I was (often) music editing in Liquid I used the facility a ...

  • Aligning Clip Marker to a Timeline Marker

So I have audio on one track and have placed a marker on the timeline (where a music phrase starts). I then import another audio (music) track to the track below. I open this second audio track in the Editor and place a (clip) marker at a significant frame within the clip (on a musical note). In my previous editing software (Pinnacle Liquid ...
