But I can go and have a cup of coffee (or 2 or 3 or 4) while it renders. I am using a greeny blue clip with ''hard light'' blending, and it should give the whole clip a washed out music-video look.

For instance, there are different blend modes in keying editor and the filter editor. (eg luminance), but I seem to remember seeing more in another editor or plug in somewhere once.

I'm with Sylvain. Yep some of the original did need correcting, but you've pushed it a bit far.

Everything is working so well. I do a half hour TV programme each week and everything works sweet. Can this last? Mind you, it is not HD.
