• Re: BSOD's all over the place PS22

When you get a BSOD, Windows should create a dump file with a dmp extension. The link below will give you some help. Windows 10 Dump file info When I had a bunch of BSOD's on my Windows 7 machine, I went to https://www.sevenforums.com/ where they have a section just for help on BSOD's. I don't know if they can help you with a Windows 10 problem ...
• Re: can i import effects?

In the notes the author says the program needs to have a blending mode such as Screen or Add, which would in effect remove the black background to reveal the image below. I don't know if Studio has such a mode but Studio can recognize some alpha channel videos. The file below is the #7 video with the alpha channel added. You can try it in Studio ...

• Re: VHS tapes to what? 12.1

The first part of this link will explain why transferring as dv-avi has always been my first choice. DV-AVI vs MPEG-2 You might not be seeing any difference because your initial transfer has already discarded a lot of data just to squeeze 2 hours of video onto a dvd. If Studio doesn't re-encode after you edit your files then they will look the ...

• Re: Re:VHS tapes to what? 12.1

I've always made DV-AVI files when digitizing VHS tapes. It's a virtually lossless transfer which captures most of what's on the tape. MPEG-2 is a lossy codec. The files will be larger than mpeg-2 but that's because each frame contains all the info needed to edit that frame. Once you're done editing, the final output to the dvd will be ...

• Re: Imported DVD has no sound

It might be a good idea to use MediaInfo to see what's actually on the disc. I took a dvd that I have and MediaInfo shows a typical file like the attached. This was just one of the several vob files on the disc. You should see something similar. I was also able to drag and drop the VOB file directly onto Audacity 2.2.2 and it loaded just ...

• Re: Imported DVD has no sound

If you want to extract the audio files from the video, you could try dragging and dropping the vob file(s) into Audacity. If Audacity doesn't recognize the vob extension, copy the vob files to a folder on your hard drive, change the extension to .mpg and then drop into Audacity. You can then export the audio as a wav or mp3 file which you ...

• Re: soccer effect

I'll guess he is looking for a soccer effect from Studio 18 that is not available in later versions. And he's willing to pay to get it.

• Re: A Winter/Christmas FX Request

I didn't even know Boris now owns Particle Illusion. It's a great program for sure, but I can't say it's $389 worth of great. I don't remember what I paid but I'm sure it was under $300. I got it in 2004 when wondertouch still owned it. They would issue a free new emitter library every month! Boy was that great! It was like Christmas every month ...

• Re: A Winter/Christmas FX Request

I have a program called Particle Illusion that can do things like that. In the past I've done effects like falling leaves landing on objects. If you want to give a few details of what you want to do, maybe I can do something with it. Joe
