Cathy   I just checked and the render files were NOT selected. Backup of the project took 28 hours to an extermal network drive. The entire size is 48.5 GB

This is my first time that i am backing up a project in 7.2. he project has 2 time lines bot an hour long. Why is it taking for ever to back up. I had a similar problem with Title Decko. I created a special 2D effect. In preview it worked OK. On the time line it was all wrong. Problem was solved when I noticed by right clicking, on the clip in question, that in addition to the effect I added, Avid added a roll. By deleting the roll and allowing it to render all was solved. 

1) I guess the reason for this set up that it simplifes the issue of removing data if it is all stored in a unique Dir 2) I can forsse pogramming issue because the Sw requires a deault setting and if the user chanes that location, is to be for that project or is it for all
