Anyone notice that there are two threads (maybe three) going on at the same time? I find them all interesting and useful.
Re flashcams: All comparisons are useful to me, apples to oranges, pineapples to potatoes. I wouldn't invest in a $2700 cam and probably not a $1500 one. Anything below $1000 is a possibility if it fits ...

''And quality from ''decent'' AVCHD-based camcorders''
Okay, bittman, can you give me a clue at to what is a ''decent'' AVCHD camcorder? My concerns about quality stem from the fact that the ones I looked at have 1/5 & 1/6 sensors which seem pretty small to get such a large pixel count. Maybe I am all turned around on ...

A little detail: I wanted to use the Blackhole gradient wipe which is not available in the CPU Gradient Wipe collection. The 2D editor would not be appropriate for every photo in my short collection so I will end up making an avi or fusing the short collection for future use.
It is always fun to find a new trick in Liquid.

After visualizing a photo becoming a video in the fusing process, I wondered if the photo would become a video if it were animated with the 2D editor. So I experimented with some side by side photos on the timeline. Turns out that if you animate two in a row they will accept the Classic Gradient Wipe. In other words, and animated ...

I'll try that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Quite simply, do they work with photos?
I can't get one to work with two photos but the same one works between two video clips on the same timeline with the same leeway created between clips/photos.
