It might be easiest to open the Import tool and re-import the files from their present location

The upgrade patch did not work. I still have 7.1. The WinXP seems to have done some good - the blinking ! has stopped blinking and there is now a thumbs up sign where the ! used to be. So the UMI has something to do with W7, maybe.
As to the full operation of Liquid, time will tell. Thanks for the help.

Thanks

Even tho a lot of people do use pass-thru without problems, I still think it is worthwhile to get an internal capture card in your computer. Mine is a clunky old Pinnacle caspture card that I got over six years ago and it still hums along with no problems. The cables are permanently plugged in and hang out the front of my computer ...

In the heat of creative editing I often shuffle bits and pieces of a project around so I find it necessary every so often to go thru my four HDs and see what is there. This usually results in a number of manual deletions of files that are no longer useful. It's just good housekeeping.

A word of advice: Before you buy your new laptop do some research here about processors and graphics cards. There are some very powerful laptops out there today but you can't assume that any one of them will run the Avid software.
Good luck
