I have a 4-year (on and off) PAL (interlaced) project that's at last nearing its end, with the making of the DVD — I'm doing that in Adobe Encore 2.0, but although the problem has revealed itself there, it is basically an AL7 problem.
The original timeline involved archive film material, and had all been edited for time before I started to get ...

Going back to Fred's original post, thanks Fred for the tip, although it had been covered on this forum earlier this year under the unlikely title of <<My kid got her license the other day. >>!
At the time I posted to say that I'd been totally bamboozled by the apparent lack of visible flash on one of the cameras until I realised that ...

Dave —
Beware of possible confusion here. PRS (Performing Rights Society) licencing refers to the venue... if a shop or a restaurant (or any other venue, from a village hall to the Albert Hall) want to play recorded music, they have to get a PRS licence.
But I think that you are concerned about the copyright aspects of using commercial ...

Dave --
Two most ingenious suggestions -- makes me want to go out and devise a production especially so I can try them!
I guess the ability to superimpose one picture on another by an 'in camera' blue screen is a Sony feature -- my PD150 will do it, but it would have never occurred to me to use it for matching shots in this way. I think it ...

Thanks to everyone for your help. I've downloaded the Classic EQ VST from Kjaerhausudio, and it's just what I need. MUCH more user-friendly than the EQs bundled with AL7 in my view.
Just to make it clear — I wasn't looking for a full-blown audio editor, but rather some basic EQ that I could audition on the fly, without waiting for the ...

Ah — I'd forgotten about the rendering of audio. Dear clunky old SADiE v3 (which runs on a Windows 95 machine, and has been doing so for over 10 years!) doesn't need to render the audio — in fairness, it has its own dedicated cards, which do all the processing outside W95, but it means that I never consider the need to render audio.
So I ...

My old faithful SADiE audio editor is dying, so I'm starting to do more audio (and audio-for-video) work within AL7. The trouble is that I'm not very impressed with the EQ engines that are provided. If I recall (and the machine's not fired up at present), one of them has a very poor interface, but will continue to play the audio whilst ...

Thanks for this posting -- I was tearing my hair out because importing a large number of graphics files (such as I had done MANY times before) kept giving me this error message.
The problem lay in the fact that I'd temporarily set the project directories to Read Only while I did a short project for a client, and didn't want to risk any files ...

Try the thread <<Transferring PC screens to video>>. which covers some of these problems.
